A New Gold Story. A Decade in the Making.
When Hugh Stuart first submitted the application for what would become the Koné Gold Project in 2008, he knew it was something special. As VP Exploration of Red Back Mining and a successful geologist in his own right, Hugh remained active at Koné even following the Kinross takeover of Red Back due to his strong conviction that the Koné Gold Project could one day become a mine.
Now over a decade later and the Koné Gold Project is now the flagship asset of Montage Gold Corp — with Hugh Stuart leading the charge. Located in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, the Koné Gold Project is part of Montage's 3,750 km2 property portfolio and is being aggressively advanced for the first time with over 50,000m of drilling ongoing and a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment released in May 2021. Along with a strong backing of notable shareholders and industry experts, Hugh Stuart and his team are rapidly advancing the Koné Gold Project towards mine development.
